Patrice Evra did not decide to leave Manchester United

Patrice Evra left Manchester Untied last summer, after eight-and-a-half years of service at Old Trafford.

The fantastic Frenchman racked up 379 appearances for United and was their number one left back for his entire career in Manchester.

Speaking to French radio station RMC, the legendary leftie revealed that he did not want to leave Manchester United, but that he had to do it for his family:

“It was a choice made by my family,”

“It’s hard to talk about it now. It was heartbreaking, but I made the choice for my family. I do not want to talk about the details.”

“Manchester didn’t want to me to leave, but before the end of the league season, I explained that I had to leave.”

“It was good choice, but I didn’t want it from my heart.”

Evra scored his first and only goal for his new club Juventus last year, in a Serie A home game against Sampdoria. His goal was the only scored by Juventus in the 1-1 draw.
