Sir Alex Ferguson: Robin van Persie nearly killed me!

Sir Alex Ferguson and Robin van Persie shared a fantastic embrace at the Britannia Stadium on Sunday after van Persie slotted home a penalty to move them 3 points closer to their 20th league title.

After van Persie scored his first goal in just over two-months, his celebration with Sir Alex Ferguson and the staff of United was fantastic.

After the match Sir Alex Ferguson said:

“He nearly killed me! He forgets I’m 71! – He did so well with the penalty, though”

“I have told the players that we are going to take the next six games as the start of the season and try to win them all.”

Robin van Persie went on to say:

“It was a big win. My goal came at an important point but the main thing today was to win I wouldn’t have cared who had scored the goal.

“I wanted to celebrate with the players and the staff because they have been there for me.”
